Mr. Escape is one of the oldest escape games rooms around. Although it has lasted through the times, general impressions are not that good. Negatives include: hard to understand clues (feels like a google translated puzzle), very dirty/worn out props making you want to wash all the dust and grime off your hands right after. It gets a rating of 6 since it has multiple rooms. The themes, puzzles and backstory are confusing and not necessarily tied in nicely. If you’re in the area, Omescape is right across the street, and they have lounge to chill out.

If you are looking for a fully immersive escape themed room, this is it. Great for novices to intermediate escapers. Incorporating live actors who play an integral part of solving your puzzles and progressing through the rooms, this escape game brings a new dimension to the escape experience. The only downside we found with this was the format requires 10-15 escapers. If you are a group of 5 “advanced” escapers who love to solve each and every puzzle, you may be slightly disappointed to know you will be paired up with other people, or groups. There are more puzzles than your group can solve alone, so teamwork is important. Remember don’t be selfish with the clues you find, as there are multiple puzzles which can be solved simultaneously, and you may be holding on to a clue for a puzzle across the room.

Well what can we say. After all these years Omescape is still popular and expanding, and is one of the go to places in the GTA for a private escape session with your friends (you won’t be forced into being paired up with random strangers). You can tell they spend the time to maintain their rooms, puzzles are built with durability to last through the times, and is relatively clean. There’s a decent amount of lighting, so you’re not tripping over each other or having a hard time finding clues to the puzzles. This is one of our favorite escape rooms to go to in the GTA. Unfortunately new puzzles don’t come out very often, so enjoy the rooms when you go check it out.
